O—SH was born from the collaboration of three architects —Natalia Vera, Patxi Martin, and Josep Garriga— united by a shared vision: to make architecture a bridge between the natural, the social, and the cultural.
From the studio, they reinterpret vernacular architectures not as a gesture of return, but as a tool for the future. Traditional materials, techniques, and knowledge are updated to respond locally to contemporary challenges. With a practice strongly connected to the rehabilitation of existing buildings, O—SH works from what is already built, recognizing the material and cultural value of pre-existing structures as a starting point for new ways of inhabiting.
Their work also extends to the urban scale, developing metabolic models in various European cities, many of them arising from award-winning proposals in Europan. In parallel, the studio fosters a pedagogical and critical dimension, researching public space, living heritage, and collective, resilient forms of dwelling.
